  • Wheat(remove the skin) - 1 cup
  • Bengal gram(Kadalaparippu) - ½ cup
  • Thick coconut milk - 2 cups
  • Sugar - 4 cups
  • Salt(As reqd) -
  • Cardamom(Elakka) - 10
  • Raisins(Onakkamunthiri) - 50 gm
  • Cashewnuts - 50 gm
  • Ghee - 100 gm

Instructions
  1. Pressure cook the wheat, till done.
  2. Pressure cook the dhal in another pan, till done.
  3. Place the cooked wheat and cooked dhal in a big vessel on a low flame.
  4. Add coconut milk, sugar, powdered cardamom and salt. Stir continuously.
  5. When it starts to reduce or thicken and gets a consistency of a payasam, remove from flame.
  6. :- Check sweetness and add as reqd.
  7. Garnish with fried cashews and raisins.
