  • urad dal 1/4 cup -
  • onion 2 no. -
  • Ginger : 1 small piece -
  • Green chili 3 no. -
  • cumin seed 1/2 tsp -
  • Curry Leaves : 1/4 Cup -
  • Salt to taste -
  • asfoetida 1 tsp -
  • Oil : as required -

Instructions
  1. soak the green gram, urad dal and idly rice in water for 3 hours
  2. In a blender add ginger, green chili and one onion and make paste
  3. add soaked rice, urad dal and green gram in blender and grind it and make as a battter
  4. add salt and asafoetida and mix it
  5. add finely chopped onion and curry leaves and mix it
  6. heat the paniyaram kadai with 2 tsp of oil each and add the batter and allow to cook
  7. turn the side and again apply oil and allow to cook for 5 mins in medium flame
  8. now green gram paniyaram is ready to serve
