  • soak the green gram, urad dal and idly rice in water for 3 hours
  • In a blender add ginger, green chili and one onion and make paste
  • add soaked rice, urad dal and green gram in blender and grind it and make as a battter
  • add salt and asafoetida and mix it
  • add finely chopped onion and curry leaves and mix it
  • heat the paniyaram kadai with 2 tsp of oil each and add the batter and allow to cook
  • turn the side and again apply oil and allow to cook for 5 mins in medium flame
  • now green gram paniyaram is ready to serve
