Green Gram Pongal

Green gram pongal is an very interesting dish , made very quickly . This could be made either with raw rice or a cooked one too. The rice is soaked for 1/2 an hour along with dal and cooked soft . The aromatic spices with ginger are added to the rice after sauteing it in ghee.

Ingredients
  

  • rice 1 cup
  • green gram 1/2 cup
  • jeera 1 sp
  • pepper 1 sp
  • ginger crushed 1 sp
  • curry leaf few
  • red chilli 2
  • ghee 4 sp

Instructions
 

  • cook rice and green gram together.
  • in ghee saute jeera pepper, ginger, red chilli, curry leafs and mix with rice.
  • serve hot with chutney or sambhar.
