Green Gram Rice

Green gram rice is a special lunch box recipe for kids . This is highly nutritive and very delicious.The rice and green gram is soaked together for 1/2 an hour . Then in a pressure pan the shallots and tomatoes are sauteed with jeera , to this the rice and dal is added and cooked. Green gram rice is made so simple and quick.

Ingredients
  

  • rice 1 cup
  • green gram 1/2 cup
  • shallots 1/4 cup
  • red and green chilli 2 each
  • tomato 2
  • mustard 1 sp
  • jeera 1 sp
  • curry leaf few
  • salt to taste.
  • ghee 2 tbsp

Instructions
 

  • soak rice and green gram for 1/2 hr
  • in pressure cooker saute mustard,jeera, red chilli, tomato , green chili , curry leaf
  • add water salt and ghee to it.
  • when water boils add the soaked rice and dal to it.
  • allow a whistle and serve.
