  • Chicken - 1 kg
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt(to taste) -
  • Oil - 4 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 3 tsp
  • Onion(sliced) - 4
  • Ginger(garlic paste - 1.5 tbsp) -
  • Tomato(chopped, big) - 1
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
For the green masala paste :
  • Coriander leaves - 1 big cup
  • Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
  • Green chillies - 5
  • Curry leaves(Grind these ingredients into a fine green paste. You can add more (or less) green chillies according to your taste.) - 4 sprigs

Instructions
  1. Clean, wash and cut chicken into small pieces. Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, 1 tsp garam masala and little salt. Keep aside.Make the green masala paste ready.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai and saute onion by adding little salt.When the onion becomes soft, add ginger-garlic paste and coriander powder and fry for 2 minutes.
  3. Add chopped tomato and saute till it mashes well with the onion masala. Now add the green masala paste and saute for 2 minutes or till it releases a nice aroma.
  4. Add the marinated chicken pieces along with the remaining 2 tsp garam masala and little water. Mix well, cover and cook it on a medium flame till chicken is done.
  5. The gravy should be of medium consistency. Check salt and add more if needed. Remove from fire and serve hot.
