  • FOR RICE. -
  • Basmati rice - 1 cup
  • Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamon - 3 each
  • For marination: -
  • Chicken(I used medium sized pieces ) - 500 gm
  • Onion( finely chopped ) - 1
  • Tomato(finely chopped ) - 1 no
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Green chilly - 6-8 nos
  • Turmeric powder - 1 /
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • whole black pepper corns - 10-15
  • Lime juice - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves -
  • Salt to taste -

Instructions
  1. Marinate the cleaned chicken with all the ingredients along with salt and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Half boil the rice with required water, salt, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon for flavouring the rice. Strain the rice and keep it aside.
  3. Place the cooked rice in a steamer and the chicken on the top of the rice .Cook it for 25 minutes.
  4. Enjoy this Mandi chicken in its authentic way.
Recipe Notes

This is a very mild dish, not spicy at all.
