Instructions
  1. For preparing the delicious sweet dish, first put gram flour in a mixing bowl, add turmeric powder, butter, dalda, baking powder and water. The consistency of the batter should be thick and not watery. If it becomes watery jalebi will not come out well. You wont get the funnel shapes.
  2. When done, cover the jalebi batter and place it in a warm place overnight, till it is fermented.
  3. Now to make the jalebis, preheat the oil for deep frying. Convert the batter into a piping bag and pipe spirals of the batter onto the medium hot oil until you get 3 concentric circles. Fry the jalebi on medium heat until golden brown in colour and crisp.
  4. Once the jalebi is crisp and browned, drain the excess oil out and immediately dip the jalebis into the hot sugar syrup. The jalebis should rest in sugar syrup for at least a minute.
  5. Enjoy these crisp, sweet as a wonderful dessert or a sweet option for your guests. You will find the jalebis dissapear altogether. Kids love the sweet and you will discover that no joyous occasion is ever complete without jalebi.
