Mix together garlic paste, coriander powder, chilly powder, poppy seeds, turmeric and salt to a smooth paste. Apply the mixture on the drained fish pieces and marinate for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and fry sliced onion till crisp. Keep this aside.
Dip the fish pieces in besan batter and Fry the fish pieces till crisp and golden brown in color.
Garnish with fried onions and lemon juice.
6)Hyderabadi fish/machhli fry is ready. Serve hot.
