Idli Upma Easy Upma made from leftover idlis 1 cup Black gram (Uzhunnu/Urad dal)3 cups Idli ravaSalt (As reqd)2 nos Onion5 - Green chilliesCurry leaves (A few)Oil1 spoon Sugar1/2 of Lemon1 tsp Mustard seedsAsafoetida (A pinch, Kayam) Soak black gram for 1 hour and grind it.Mix 3 times idli rava and keep the batter for 8 hrs. Prepare idli from that rava.When idli becomes cold, smash it and make it as normal mixture.Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.Splutter mustard seeds.Add a pinch of asafoetida, curry leaves and green chillies.Add chopped onion and fry till they turn golder brown in color.Add idli mixture, salt, lemon juice and a bit of sugar.Mix it properly and keep it for 3 - 4 mins to cook. I oftenly prepare idlis and always it remains for the next days. I tried preparing this upma , it is really very very tasty. And my family members donot really makeout that the upma is prepared from yesterdays idlis.
