Indonesian Salad- Asinan

Asinan- hot, sweet and sour mixed vegetable salad

Ingredients
  

  • 1 no Cucumber peeled
  • 1 no Carrot peeled
  • 1 no Onion peeled and sliced thinly
  • Bean sprouts a handful
  • 1 cup White cabbage finely shredded
  • 1 cup Chinese cabbage finely shredded
  • Dressing
  • 1/4 cup White vinegar
  • 2 nos Bird’s eye chilli seeded and sliced, thai chilly
  • 1 no Dry red chilly pounded
  • 2 tsp Sugar dissolved in 2 tbsp water
  • Salt to taste
  • Garnishing:
  • 2 tbsp Peanuts roasted / almonds chopped roughly
  • 1/2 cup Cilantro / lettuce shredded

Instructions
 

  • Slice the cucumber and carrot length wise and combine it with onion, bean sprouts and cabbages shredded.
  • In a deep bowl combine the ingredients for dressing and adjust the seasoning.
  • Toss all the salad vegetables along with the dressing, let it chill in the refrigerator overnight for the flavours to blend.
  • Garnish it with roasted peanuts and shredded lettuce or cilantro.
  • :- Serve the Indonesian salad on a platter!! :- Enjoy the Indonesian Salad!!
