Indonesian Salad- Asinan
Asinan- hot, sweet and sour mixed vegetable salad

Cucumber

Carrot
peeled

Onion
peeled and sliced thinly
Bean sprouts
a handful

cup
White
cabbage
finely shredded
1
cup
Chinese
cabbage
finely shredded
Dressing
1/4
cup
White vinegar
2
nos
Bird’s eye chilli
seeded and sliced, thai chilly
1
no
Dry red chilly
pounded
2
tsp
Sugar
dissolved in 2 tbsp
water
Salt
to taste
Garnishing:
2
tbsp
Peanuts roasted / almonds
chopped roughly
1/2
cup
Cilantro /
lettuce
shredded
Instructions
Slice the
cucumber
and
carrot
length wise and combine it with
onion
, bean sprouts and cabbages shredded.
In a deep bowl combine the ingredients for dressing and adjust the seasoning.
Toss all the salad vegetables along with the dressing, let it chill in the refrigerator overnight for the flavours to blend.
Garnish it with roasted peanuts and shredded
lettuce
or cilantro.
:- Serve the Indonesian salad on a platter!! :- Enjoy the Indonesian Salad!!
