  • Kadala(chickpeas) - 1 1/2 cup,soak
  • Raw banana(kaya) - 2 nos
  • Bird eye chilly(kandhari mulak(kandhari mulak) - 10 nos
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Coconut - 1 cup,grated
  • Salt(as required) -
  • For seasoning: -
  • Shallots(chopped) - 4
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves(little) -

Instructions
  1. Add chickpeas,cut banana,bird eye chilly,turmeric powder and salt in a pressure cooker
  2. Pour 2 cup water and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed,when it starts splutter add shallots and curry leaves,saute for 10 seconds and mix it with the puzhukk.
  4. Grind the grated coconut with cumin seed
  5. Mix it with the puzhukk and cook again for 2 minutes.
  6. Kadala kaya puzhukk is ready to serve.serve with rice or kanji.
