Kakka Ularthiyathu
Kakka/oysters is cooked and mixed with grated
coconut
and other ingredients to prepare kakka ularthiyathu.

washed, cleaned and drained, Kakka

Shallots
crushed, Kunjulli

Green chillies
chopped round
Ginger
a small piece, chopped

Garlic
crushed

Coconut
grated

Pepper corns
crushed

tsp
Chilly powder
1/4
tsp
Turmeric powder
1/2
tsp
Garam masala
Curry leaves
Few
Coconut oil
As reqd
Salt
As reqd
Instructions
For preparing kakka ularthiyathu, first mix kakka with shallots,
green chillies
,
ginger
,
garlic
,
curry leaves
, some
water
and required
salt
in a vessel.
Cook in low heat until
water
has almost dried up.
Add grated
coconut
, crushed pepper, chilly powder and cover the vessel with a lid. Simmer in low heat until the kakka pieces are done.
Sprinke
garam masala
and add fresh
coconut oil
. Remove the vessel from fire.
Kakka ularthiyathu, a favorite dish of kerala, is ready. Serve hot.
