Kalakand is a deliciously delicious sweet with soft, crumbled and grainy texture. Kalakand is a unique sweet requiring only two vital ingredients, condensed milk and paneer. Traditionally, while preparing Kalakand sweet, paneer was prepared manually which was time consuming. Ingredients
  

  • 1 tin Condensed milk
  • 1/2 kg Paneer Cottage cheese
  • 3 - Cardamom(powdered) Elakka
  • 2 tbsp Milk powder
  • 1 no Silver leaf Varak

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Kalakand, first mash paneer coarsely and add milk powder to it.
  • Stir in condensed milk and mix well.
  • Heat the mixture in a thick-bottomed pan.
  • Cook on medium heat with constant stirring till the mixture becomes thick which should take about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the fire and spread onto a greased plate.
  • Sprinkle cardamom powder.
  • Top with silver leaf.
  • Cool and cut into squares.
  • Delicious Kalakand sweet is ready.

    This was the most simple recipe I have ever done for an Indian sweet. My husband is from India and my Father-In-Law just brought kalakand from India for us from Pulla Reddy sweets in Hyderabad, and this recipe is really close to being that good had I not just had it from India I would never have known the difference. Thanks Asha Patel!!!
