In a large bowl add rice flour,coconut mixture,salt and water as required,knead it to a smooth dough.
Clean the outer part of mussels by scrubbing away all the dirt if any.Slowly slide thd knife through the slits and open them slowly without breaking the shells apart.
Make balls of rice dough ,stuff the dough into the shells.shape them neatly.
Steam cook the stuffed mussels for 30 minutes.
Break open the shell and take out the cooked stuffing taking care not to break or part the mussels sticking to the shell.marinate the cooked mussels in masala.
Heat oil in a vessel and fry it till golden brown in colour.
Kallumakkaya nirachathu is ready now.Serve it with an evening tea.
