kallumakkaya roast is a spicy fried delicacy and is much favored in kerala.Mussels or kadukka is a good source of zinc and folic acid.It is so popular in malabar regions and there are several traditional recipes with kadukka/mussels.Check out the video of kallumakkaya Roast.

Instructions
  1. Clean mussels/kallumakkai and marinate it in chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt.
  2. Heat oil in a vessel and deep fry the mussels.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and saute onion until it is golden brown in colour.
  4. Add tomato,green chilly,ginger,garlic,curry leaves,coriander leaves and saute for 5 minutes.
  5. Add fried mussels,garam masala,salt and saute for 2 minutes.
  6. Mussels roast is ready to serve.
