A

Kallumakkaya Roast is a delectable seafood delicacy that exhibits the natural flavors of mussels. The preparatory process is quite popular that involves frying the mussels and roasting the mussels to perfection along with spicy flavorings. This is a delightful delicacy for seafood lovers. Selecting high quality kallumakkaya or mussels is essential for preparing a successful Mussel Roast. Look out for mussels that have tightly closed shells and are fresh with a briny ocean scent. Make sure that the mussels are alive by tapping lightly. If the shells close, it is an indication that the mussels are alive and are safe for consumption. Once the mussels are available, it’s time to prepare them for the dish. Cleans the mussels thoroughly under running water, removing all debris on the shells. Remove the tuft of fibres, termed ‘beard’, exposing from the shell. Gently pull off the mussel from the mussel.

Discard open shelled mussels that are dead and my spoil the dish. Clean and marinate the prawns with spicy flavorings. Deep fry the mussels and make sure the mussels are cooked. Now we are moving ahead to the final process of preparing Mussel Roast. In a roasting pan heat oil and prepare a flavorful mixture with essential ingredients. Stir in the fried mussels and mix well so that each mussels receives a generous coating. Roast only for a short period since mussels lose tenderness and tend to become rubbery if overcooked. After roasting, remove from fire and cool it slightly before serving. You can garnish with a slice of lime and perhaps a drizzle of virgin olive oil for a touch of extra richness. Mussel Roast is a versatile dish that can be savored in various ways. Some prefer Kallumakkaya Roast as an appetizer while others my prefer as the main dish along with roasted veggies.
