Kerala Mutton Pepper Fry is a classic favorite in Kerala cuisine well known for its wide range of spices and amazing flavor. Kerala Mutton Pepper Fry is an easy to prepare dish with semi dry spicy gravy and lots of onions and fresh spices. The dish pairs well with porotta, roti and almost all rice dishes.Tender mutton pieces are marinated in a green chilly mixture for an hour before cooking unlike other mutton dishes. Cooked mutton pieces are sauteed with tomato slices, onion and other fresh spices in coconut oil. Instructions
  1. For preparing kerala mutton pepper fry, crush green chillies, ginger and garlic.
  2. Mix it with mutton along vinegar, lime juice, salt and little pepper.
  3. Keep it for 1 hour.
  4. Pressure cook the mutton and evaporate the water completely.
  5. Heat coconut oil in a pan, add cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
  6. Add onion and fry it.
  7. Add tomato slices and fry again.
  8. Add coriander powder, turmeric and little salt.
  9. When mutton is done, add the mutton into gravy along with the water.
  10. Sprinkle little pepper and coriander powder at last.
  11. Deep fry the mutton and serve hot.
  12. Kerala mutton pepper fry is ready.
