Kerala Mutton Stew

A very healthy stew good for both children and adults alike

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Mutton cut into medium sized pieces
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1 small Ginger chopped
  • 8 - Small onions Kunjulli
  • Pepper Few, crushed
  • 1/2 of Coconut
  • 2 nos Onion sliced
  • 1 no Cloves Grambu
  • 1 no Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 7 - Baby potatoes
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Fry sliced onions, till slightly brown.
  • Add slit green chillies, ginger, crushed pepper, cloves and cinnamon.
  • Add mutton and salt and fry for 5 mins.
  • Add potatoes.
  • Extract 1 cup of thick coconut milk. Keep it aside.
  • Extract thin milk, the quantity depending upon the quantity of the curry you need.
  • :- Do not make it too watery.
  • Add the 2nd or thin coconut milk and cook upto 3 whistles or till mutton is done.
  • After opening the lid, add whole small onions and boil for another 5 mins.
  • Add the 1st or thick coconut milk.
  • Cover with its lid and switch off the flame.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves, if desired.
