Ingredients

Asafoetida
A pinch, Kayam

Green chillies

Red chillies
Kollamulaku

Garlic
pods

Ginger
Mustard seeds
A little
Fenugreek
A pinch, Uluva
Pepper powder
As reqd
Salt
As reqd
3
sprigs
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
A handful
Instructions
Put
tamarind
in a kadai and pour little hot
water
.
Add asafoetida and saute and keep aside.
Grind together
garlic
pods, green chilles,
curry leaves
,
red chillies
,
cumin seeds
,
pepper powder
and kayam again.
Heat
oil
in a kadai.
Splutter
mustard seeds
.
Add the above ground mixture into the kadai.
Add
turmeric powder
and red
chilli powder
.
Add the "
tamarind
mixture"(puli vellam with kayam),
pepper powder
and reqd hot
water
.
Add the finely chopped coriander leaves.
