Chena Mezhukkupuratti, also known as Elephant foot yam Fry, is very popular in Kerala.Yam/ Chena fry is also known as chena Upperi, Chena Poriyal, Chena Roast etc and is a great combination with almost every dish, be it chicken fry or any thoran.

Instructions
  1. Cut the yam into very small pieces and wash well
  2. Pour coconut milk,salt and
  3. cook till the milk absorbs.if it is not cooked well,add little water and cook again.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped shallots,saute until light brown in colour
  5. Then add curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
  6. Add all powders and saute for 2-3 minutes in low flame.
  7. Add cooked yam and combine well.cook for another 2 minutes and remove it from the flame.
