Kerala Style Cherupayar Curry Cherupayar curry without garlic and garam masala 1/2 cup Green gram (Cherupayar)1 no Onion (finely chopped, large)1 no Tomato (finely chopped, large)2 nos Green chillies2 1/2 tbsp Sambar powderTurmeric powder (A pinch)1/4 cup Coconut milkSalt (As reqd)2 - Oil Soak daal overnight.Cook it in a pressure cooker.Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.Fry onion, until it becomes golden brown.Add green chillies and tomatoes and saute.Add the cooked daal and a little water, if necessary.Add salt and mix well.Add turmeric powder and sambar powder.Stir well and allow it to boil.Turn off the flame.Add coconut milk and stir well. tried it out…didnt taste good..the sambar powder killed the taste of the moong beans..
this is very bad recepie. This becomes good when u feel very hungry and mothing is there.. Better to have Curd and rice..
I read the previous comment. I used chicken masala instead of sambar powder and that tastes good.
