Kerala Style Tomato Chutney
Easy and quick dish for rice

Ingredients

tomato
diced into small pieces, large
1/2
tsp
Asafoetida
Kaayam
Salt
As reqd
1

Dry
red chillies
Kollamulaku
2
tsp
Turmeric powder
1/2
tsp
Chillie powder
1/2
tsp
Cumin seeds
Jeerakam
1/2
tsp
Mustard seeds
Oil
As reqd
1
fresh
Garlic
pod
crushed
Instructions
In a bowl, add the tomatoes, asafoetida, turmetic powder,
salt
, chillie powder and mix well.
Heat
oil
in a frying pan.
Splutter the
mustard seeds
and
cumin seeds
and saute dry
red chillies
and the
garlic
.
When the
red chillies
turn dark in colur, add the the
tomato
mixture.
Add
water
and cook on low heat till the
tomato
is well cooked (almost mashed up) and
water
is fully dried up.
:- Serve with rice.
