Quick dessert made in Karnataka when guests are sitting in the living room.

Ingredients

Semolina
Rava/Sooji
1 1/2
cups
Sugar
1
tbsp
Raisins
Onakkamunthiri
1
tbsp
Cashewnuts
1/2
tsp
Cardamom
powder
Elakka
3
tbsp
Ghee
3
cups
Hot
water
Kesari or Yellow food colour
A pinch
Instructions
Take a medium size non stick pan.
Heat 1 tbsp of
ghee
in it.
Add
cashewnuts
& raisins & fry for 1 min.
Add the rava and fry again for 1 min.
Reduce the flame completely & then add hot
water
, elaichi powder & food colour and keep stirring for 3-4 mins on medium flame.
When the rava gets almost cooked, add
sugar
and stir again.
:- Make sure that lumps are are not formed.
Add the remaining
ghee
and stir again.
Cover the pan and cook on reduced flame for 3 - 4 mins.
:- Serve hot.
