  • Green chillies(finely chopped) - 1 no
  • Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
  1. For preparing khamang cucumber/kakadi/vellarikkai salad, first mix the chopped cucumber, roasted peanut powder, sugar and lemon juice. Mix well and keep aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and splutter cumin seeds.
  3. Add green chillies and curry leaves. Fry in low heat for a few seconds.
  4. Pour this tempering into the cucumber mixture when the cumin seeds become dark brown.
  5. Add required salt just before serving. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  6. Khamang cucumber/kakadi/vellarikkai salad, a typical maharashtrian recipe, apt during fasting season is ready.
