Instructions
  1. Cook toor both dal and rice together with 2 cup of water salt for 4 to 5 whistles,ie for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat oil and ghee in a kadai add cumin seeds and pepper a d ginger , saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add red chilly also and saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Add cashews and saute till it turns brown.
  5. Then pour this over rice and dal mix.
  6. Mix all together well.Heat for 2 minutes in low flame,
  7. Now khara pongal is ready .Serve hot with sambhar and coconut chutney.
