Instructions
  1. Clean the Vendakkaya and cut it into about 1 ½ inch length and then split it into 2 pieces and keep these pieces separately
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan and then put the cumin seeds into the hot oil.
  3. Add the ladies finger pieces along with sugar, red chilli powder, asafoetida powder, turmeric powder, salt and coriander powder into it and then stir it well.
  4. Cover the frying pan with a plate and allow to cook the mix in low flame( please do not add water while cooking and take care for not sticking the mix in the frying pan).
  5. When the ladies finger is cooked well, put off the stove and change it into a bowl / serving vessel.
  6. Garnish the upperi with grated coconut . This upperi can be served with chappathi / poori / rice.
