  • Cabbage(chopped, small) - 1/2 of
  • Green peas(boiled) - 1 cup
  • Potato(cut into cubes and boiled) - 1/2 cup
  • Jaggery(crushed, Sharkara) - 1/2 tbsp
  • Chick pea split(soaked in some water, Kadala parippu) - 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies(chopped) - 2 nos
  • Turmeric powder(A pinch) -
  • Asafoetida(Kayam) - 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 3 - 4 leaves
  • Coconut( for garnishing, grated) - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves(for garnishing, chopped) - 1 tbsp

Instructions
  1. For preparing Maharashtrian Kobichi Bhaji, first heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
  2. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves and soaked chick pea. Saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add chopped cabbage, boiled peas and potato, jaggery and required salt. Mix well.
  4. Cook the cabbage with a covered lid in medium flame for 7 minutes. Stir in between.
  5. Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
  6. Typical Maharashtrian kobichi bhaji is ready. Serve hot with rotis.
