Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm Allpurpose flour Maida
  • 1 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Asafoetida powder A pinch, Kayam
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 kg Cooking oil for deep frying

Instructions
 

  • Mix together maida, salt, red chilly powder, asafoetida, ghee or oil and knead well to make a soft dough.
  • Make balls off the dough and roll them into very thin & large chappathis.
  • Make cuts using a knife by drawing a number of parallel lines to cut into diamond shaped pieces.
  • Deep fry in oil.
  • Drain and pack in a air-tight container for longer shelf life.

    This snack is also called `diamond cuts`. After rolling out the chapatis, I spread jeera nicely and roll it a bit more. It makes all the difference in taste..and you will love it!
