  • Basmati rice - 500 gms
  • Onion(sliced) - 1 no
  • Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 1 inch
  • Cloves(Grambu) - 3 nos
  • Cardamon - 3 pods
  • Water - 1 litre
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Coconut oil - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Onion(finely sliced) - 1 no
  • Salt(As reqd) -
for garnishing:
  • Cashew nuts(Few) -
  • Raisins(Few, Onakka munthiri) -

Instructions
  1. Wash basmati rice and drain well.
  2. Take a pan and pour ghee. Splutter cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
  3. Add onion and fry crisp.
  4. Add the drained basmati rice and fry for 5 minutes.
  5. Add boiling water and required salt.
  6. Cover with a lid and cook in low heat until done.
  7. Stir gently and wait till the water has evaporated completely.
  8. Take a pan and pour coconut oil. Fry the onion, cashew nuts and raisins. Scatter on top of malabar neichoru.
