  • Basmati rice - 2 cups
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Green cardamom(Elakka) - 5 nos
  • Cloves(Grambu) - 2 nos
  • Bay leaves(Vazhana/Karuga ela) - 2 nos
  • Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 2 1/2 cm
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
  1. Wash rice and soak in water for 45 minutes. Then drain water.
  2. Take a pressure cooker and heat some ghee.
  3. Add onion and saute till golden in color. Add all spices: cardamon, cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon.
  4. Add water and required salt. When water boils, add rice. Cover pressure cooker and cook for 1 whistle. Open lid when cool. Ghee rice ready.
