Ingredients

Ripe bananas
Ethakka
For preparing filling:
1
tbsp
Cashew nuts
broken
1
tbsp
Raisins
Unakka munthiri
1 1/2
tbsp
Sugar
1

Egg
beaten
Cardamom
powder
A pinch, Elakka
1/2
tbsp
Ghee
Oil
For frying
Instructions
Steam the bananas. Cool and remove black pith.
Mash the bananas well and add 1 tbsp of
sugar
. Mix well and keep aside.
Take a pan and pour
ghee
. Heat the
ghee
and fry cashew nuts and
raisins
.
Add remaining
sugar
. When
sugar
melts, add beaten
egg
and
cardamom
powder. Leave the filling batter to cool.
Make lime sized balls with the mashed
banana
.
Take each ball and flatten with your palm. Put the filling and roll into round shapes.
Take a pan and pour sufficient
oil
for frying. Heat the
oil
and deep fry the entire unnakkai until golden in color.
Malabar unnakkai, a tea time snack is ready and serve hot.
