Manathakkali Thokku

manathakkali thokku is my favourite dish, i love this spicy tangy thokku with hot white rice topped with a tsp of ghee. This delicious gravy is very simple and is a boon as it has more shelf life.

Instructions
  1. chop the onion and garlic
  2. chop the tomato
  3. clean and wash the manathakkali and
  4. heat the both oil in the pan and temper the mustard, broken urad dal, cumin seed and fenugreek seed
  5. Add garlic and manathakkali and saute it for 3 mins
  6. add onion and curry leaves and saute it for 5 mins
  7. add tomato and mix it
  8. add turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  9. add sambhar powder and mix it
  10. add tamarind water, mix well and allow to cook for 5 mins
  11. keep the flame in low and allow to cook until the manathakkali becomes thokku consistency
  12. now manathakkali thokku is ready to serve
