Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven at 350 F or 180 C. Grease and flour an 8 inch round cake pan.
  2. Add oil, yogurt and sugar in a big bowl.
  3. Beat well on medium speed for 3 minutes or by hand 5 minutes.
  4. Add beaten eggs slowly along with sieved flour and beat on slow speed, until well corporates.
  5. Add the apple sauce and vanilla to the cake mix. :- Sometimes, you need only 1/2 the amount of apple sauce.( The mix should not be runny)
  6. :- The mix when dropped from a spoon should drop slowly and not runny. 6)Divide the cake mix into 2 halves.
  7. Take 1/4 cup chocolate chips and heat in a microwave till it just melts.
  8. Cool it and mix with half the cake mix. :- This is the chocolate mix.
  9. Take the remaining 1/4 of chocolate chips and combine with the other cake mix.
  10. Fill the bottom of the pan with alternate layers of chocolate chip and chocolate mix.
  11. Finally, use a knife to swirl in upward and downward motion round the cake mix to give the marble effect.
  12. Put it into the oven and bake for 70 mins.
  13. Check with a knife. If it comes out clean, it is done.
  14. Note:- This recipe uses limited oil. You can substitute 8 egg whites instead of 4 whole eggs. This is a more healthy version.
  15. :- If using plain flour use 1 heaped tsp baking powder to 2 cups of flour and sieve twice.
  16. :- If apple sauce is not available, use 1 cup oil instead of 1/4 cup
