  • onion 1 np. -
  • green chili 2 no. -
  • Tomato 2 no. -
  • Garlic 5 no. -
  • Ginger : 1 small piece -
  • Red chili powder : 1 tsp -
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp -
  • Salt to taste -
  • oil 5 tsp -
  • mustard 1/4 tsp -
  • broken urad dal 1/5 tsp -
  • cumin seed 1/4 tsp -
  • Coriander leaves : 2 tsp -
  • Ghee : 2 tsp -

Instructions
  1. Chop the onion, tomato, green chili, ginger and garlic
  2. in a pressure cooker add masoor dal, salt and turmeric and allow for 3 whistle to get boiled
  3. in a pan heat the oil and ghee
  4. temper the mustard, broken urad dal, cumin seed
  5. add ginger and garlic it and saute it
  6. add onion and green chili and saute it for 3 mins
  7. add tomato and mix well and allow to cook for 3 mins
  8. transfer to the boiled dal
  9. add salt and red chili powder and allow to cook for 5 mins in medium flame
  10. garnish with coriander leaves, now masala masoor dal is ready to serve
