Take a pressure cooker and add washed dal,chopped tomato,onion,green chilli,crushed ginger and garlic.pressure cook it for 1 whistle.
Take a pan heat oil and splutter mustard seed and add chopped shallots,when it turns to brown add dry red chilli and curry leaves,saute for 2 seconds and add into the cooked dal.
