Mattar Karanjis In Marati Style
Rolled out maida dough filled with green pea mixture and deep fried in hot
oil

Maida

Mustard seeds

Onion
chopped

Ginger
chopped

Green chillies
chopped
1
tbsp
Coriander leaves
chopped

tsp
Coriander powder
1
tsp
Garam masala
Oil
For deep frying
Salt
As reqd
Instructions
First prepare a stiff dough using maida, 1 tbsp
oil
and required
salt
. Keep the dough aside.
For preparing filling, heat
oil
in a pan and splutter
mustard seeds
. Add
cumin seeds
,
onion
,
green chillies
,
ginger
, coriander leaves,
coriander powder
,
garam masala
, peas and required
salt
. Cook for few minutes.
Divide the dough into equal sized small balls.
Roll out each ball into a round of 3 inches.
Place 2 tsp of filling on one half of the round.
Wet the sides with fingers and fold over. Press to seal.
Heat
oil
in a pan and deep fry mattar karanjis in marati style, till golden brown in color.
A very popular Maharashtrian recipe, mattar karanjis in marati style is ready. Serve hot.
