Meen Ada is a famous Malabari dish mostly prepared during Ramadan.Normally, Meen Ada is prepared with fried Fish. But due to health reason, here I used non fried fish.
For preparing the Meen Ada, firstly cook the cleaned fish with salt, a pinch of turmeric and pepper powder. Remove the bone , then minse with hand.Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion, ginger / garlic paste, green chilli and saute it well.
Add all powders, coriander leaves and saute again.
Finally add the minced fish into the pan and mix well. Let it cool.
Now the filling is ready for Meen Ada.
Boil water along with salt .When it starts to boil, add the rice flour and mix well.
Knead the dough thoroughly with your hands and make it
round shaped balls.
Take a ball size dough, and then press the dough using pathiri press or with your fingers ( Spread oil if needed )and make round shaped pathiris. ( as shown in the picture )
Place the fish filling on the pathiri. Fold it and press the sides.
Place the prepared ada in a steamer . Cook it for 20 - 25 minutes.
Now the Meen Ada is ready to serve. Serve hot with tea or coffee.
You can use any fish. Here I used tuna fish .
