Ingredients
  

For making idlis:

  • 300 gm Rice
  • 150 gm Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil to grease Idli moulds
  • glass Water for boiling in cooker

For making fried idlis:

Instructions
 

  • Follow the method of making the batter and the idlis from the recipe of plain idlis.
  • Make a liquid paste of maida and add red color to it.
  • Crush semiya/vermicelli and keep it aside.
  • Dip the small idlis in the maida batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Roll/cover the idlis in the vermicelli and fry them for 2 minutes.
  • :- Serve hot with tea/coffee. :- Makes 250-300 Mini Idlis (of size of Re. 1 coin)
