Style 2:-
1)Grind together shallots and red chillies.
2)Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
3)Splutter mustard seeds and saute curry leaves.
4)Add chammandhi and saute.
:- Optionally you can add 1 tomato while grinding.
Style 3:-
1)Heat coconut oil in a pan or a kadai.
2)Saute shallots.
3)Add 2 sprigs curry leaves, tomato, chilly and 1/2 tsp pepper (optional).
4)Add salt.
5)Grind it to a paste.

Awesome!!! and just what i was looking for!! I tried the first 2 methods.I`m pretty sure my grandmom used to make it by method no 1 but i loved the second one even more….Ramya, your recipes are very authentic and you should consider bringing out a book.
Try not to grind the onion for too long or it will become bitter.
If dry red chillies do not grind fast, you can try frying them in a little oil and grind them first. Then add onions and grind.
Easiest option – use red chilly powder !!

ramya,whenever i grind small onions and chillies it has the bitter taste of onions so we can have it .pls reply if you know what is wrong?
