Mushroom Biriyani Mushroom biriyani 1 cup Rice1 cup Button mushrooms1 no Onion (chopped)3 nos Cloves (Grambu)1 no Cardamom (Elakka)2 Bay leaves (Karuga/Vazhana ela)4 nos Black pepper (Kurumulaku)1 tsp Garam masala1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)1/2 cup Cabbage (grated)4 nos Cashewnuts (chopped)4 tbsp Oil2 cups Water (approx)Salt (As reqd) Wash rice and soak for 1/2 hour.Heat oil in a pan.Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, black pepper and cardamoms.Add cashewnut pieces and simmer for 1 minute.Add onions and fry till golden brown.Add mushrooms and let it cook for 5 minutes.Add rice, cabbage, garam masala and salt.Add water and cover the pan.Cook on slow flame till rice is done.:- Serve with hot curry. it was okay, nothing like biryani… it was more like fried rice or pulav.
