  • Bay leaves(Vazhana/Karuga ela) - 4
  • Pepper corns - 20 gm
  • Barley powder - 25 gm
  • Onions(chopped) - 30 gm
  • Carrots(chopped) - 50 gm
  • Ginger(A small piece) -
  • Salt(As reqd) -
  • Pepper powder(As reqd) -

Instructions
  1. In a thick pan, add mutton, mutton bones, 10 glasses of water, carrots, onions, bay leaves, pepper corns, salt and boil on low heat for 2 hours.
  2. When the water evaporates and becomes 6 glasses of water, remove from heat.
  3. Sieve and place in another bowl.
  4. To the above soup, add barley powder and cook until the soup thickens.
  5. Add salt and pepper powder to taste, boiled mutton pieces and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. :- Serve Mutton Soup - Goat Soup hot.

The mutton has to be boiled for 2 HOURS? Is it really “HOURS”?

Try garnishing with fresh coriander leaves before serving. It will make a remarkable change in taste. I have never used barley in soup earlier, and found it pretty good. Thanks.

Cook the mutton in pressure cooker. It makes quicker.

I tried this mutton soup in my house,it really tastes very good,me and my husband liked it very much.if we add ginger garlic paste &cumin powder to this mutton soup,it really tastes more better.
