Ingredients
  

  • 150 gm Mutton
  • 200 gm Mutton bones
  • 4 Bay leaves Vazhana/Karuga ela
  • 20 gm Pepper corns
  • 25 gm Barley powder
  • 30 gm Onions chopped
  • 50 gm Carrots chopped
  • Ginger A small piece
  • Salt As reqd
  • Pepper powder As reqd

Instructions
 

  • In a thick pan, add mutton, mutton bones, 10 glasses of water, carrots, onions, bay leaves, pepper corns, salt and boil on low heat for 2 hours.
  • When the water evaporates and becomes 6 glasses of water, remove from heat.
  • Sieve and place in another bowl.
  • To the above soup, add barley powder and cook until the soup thickens.
  • Add salt and pepper powder to taste, boiled mutton pieces and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • :- Serve Mutton Soup - Goat Soup hot.

    The mutton has to be boiled for 2 HOURS? Is it really “HOURS”?

    Try garnishing with fresh coriander leaves before serving. It will make a remarkable change in taste. I have never used barley in soup earlier, and found it pretty good. Thanks.

    Cook the mutton in pressure cooker. It makes quicker.
