Pearl Spot also known as Karimeen is widely available in Kerala backwaters and this is a popular dish. Since this is an exotic dish, Pearl Spot fishes are very costly nowadays so the general lot cannot afford to buy the fish. Karimeen is rich in protein and omega 3 fatty acids. Karimeen fishes are coated in the spicy aromatic masala before deep frying. Marinate well before deep frying so that the masalas penetrate well into the fish pieces.
