It is a nice chutney for idly and dosa. It is very hard to imagine dosa and idly being served without coconut chutney.

Instructions
  1. Grind onion, coconut grated, green chilli and ginger in a mixer.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustards when it splutters add red chilli and curry leaves. sauté for a minute.
  3. Add grounded coconut mix to the kadai ,add chilli powder to this and salt for a minute.
  4. Add salt and mix all well. cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Now nadan thenga chammanthi is ready to serve for idly and dosa.
