Add 1/2 cup of water and salt. (No water required for boneless chicken)
Close the pressure cooker and keep the flame on high.
When the first long whistle comes, reduce the flame to medium low and cook for 5 mins. (If you are using boneless chicken reduce cooking time to 3 minutes)
Chicken cooks so easily in a pan, hence there is not need to cook chicken in a pressure cooker. By cooking it in the Cooker, the Chicken will not be tender to eat and will simply dissolve making it tasteless.
I have tried this recipe about 6 times now & every time it has come out very well!It has the typical kerala chicken curry taste.I always cook the chicken in a pan & not in the pressure cooker.Anyway thanks for the recipe.
This recipe was excellent, thank-you for posting it. I am going to make it again and soon, which shows just how popular it was at my home 🙂
I am an experienced cook and I like using the pressure cooker – I have found out it is convenient, quick and when used correctly food comes out tender and flavorful. I am always looking for good recipes for the pressure cooker -and this one hits the mark.
Ah atlast i have got this recipe i was in very bad search of this recipe infact i have tried this once unfortunately lost my recipe book and i missed this chicken recipe and now i have got it tastes yummy kepp it up vandana rajan
This is the easiest chicken curry I ever made. And it tastes so good. Chicken does not dissolve when cooked in a pressure cooker if too much water is not added and if the cooking time in the recipe is followed exactly. I made this curry twice and it came out perfect both times.
This recipe is really simple to make and very tasty. It`s written very well. The chicken cooks perfectly if u follow the instructions given in the recipe.
