For preparing onion cauliflower masala, first clean the cauliflower and cut into pieces as shown in the picture below. Wash well and drain.
Mix the cut cauliflower pieces with a mixture of bengal gram flour, rice powder, red chilly powder, turmeric and salt by adding little water. 3)Coat the cauliflower with these ingredients and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
Heat oil in a fry pan and put the masala coated cauliflower pieces into the fry pan. Fry in low flame and when its colour turns into golden, take it out and allow to cool.
Heat some oil in another fry pan or in the same pan and put the chopped onion, tomato, garlic and ginger and mix it well.
After 5 minutes, add red chilly powder, turmeric power, salt and mix it further.
When the above mix is cooked well and oil starts to come out separately, add the fried cauliflower along with coconutmilk and some water (if required). Allow cooking for further 10 minutes. 8)If you want to make the masala more gravy, add required water otherwise add only little water. This onion cauliflower masala can be served with rice, chappati, poori, bread etc.
