  • Peel and chop the plantains into pieces.
  • In a pressure cooker, add cleaned raw banana, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and cook adding 1½ cup of water. Cook for 3 whistles.
  • Add 2 cleaned sardines and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Remove the bones of the Sardine, add few curry leaves and stir the cooked sardine and mix well.
  • Grind grated coconut, green chilli, fennel seeds, shallots and garlic by adding little water to a coarse mixture.
  • Add this mixture to cooked plantain and mix well.
  • Adjust the salt and cook covered for 4-5 minutes at low flame
  • Serve with rice or kanji.
