  • Snake guard/padavalam - 250 g
  • Jackfruit seed - 5-6
  • Toor daal(thuvara parippu) - 1/2 cup
  • Coconut(grated) - 1/2 of one
  • Green chilly - 3
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chilly - 2
  • Curry leaves(little) -
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt(to taste) -
  • Water - 2 1/2 cup

Instructions
  1. Scrape the skin of the snake guard and remove the seeds. Wash it and chop into small pieces. Take all other ingredients and keep it ready.
  2. Cook the above ingredients in water with turmeric powder and salt as required. You can also cook toor dal separate in a pressure cooker.
  3. Grind grated coconut to make a smooth paste and pour it into curry and let it boil.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard, dry red chilly and curry leaves. When it starts spluttering turn off the flame.
  5. Mix it with curry and serve.
