Pakkavad, also called as Ribbon Pakoda is a popular tea time snack in India and is very easy to prepare. This is a very common snack item prepared during some festive occasions.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups Roasted gram flour
  • 1 cup Roasted rice flour
  • 2 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida powder Kayam
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1/2 tbsp Ghee
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Mix the flour with chilly powder, asafoetida powder and salt.
  • Add the ghee and mix well.
  • Knead the above to a smooth dough using hot water.
  • Press it through the ribbon mould of a seva press into hot oil and fry it till golden brown.
  • Drain off the excess oil on a kitchen towel.
