Panchamrutham is a combination of ripened small size bananas (preferably used Kadalippazham which has only little water content), Rock Sugar Candy, Cow Ghee, Honey and dried Raisins. This is a healthy and tasty recipe, generally used to perform poojas in the temples and houses as Prasadam. Different regions in India have their own versions of preparing the Prasadam or offering. I have tastewd a similar panchamirtham with same ingredients but additionaly with fresh
coconut fine shavings (thuruval) by a kannada priest at a Saradambhal Temple in Chennai. i have never tasted a better one than this exceept Palani Panchamirtham made at the Palani temple with your purchased ingredients duiring 60″s (not now)
