Panchamrutham

Panchamrutham is a combination of ripened small size bananas (preferably used Kadalippazham which has only little water content), Rock Sugar Candy, Cow Ghee, Honey and dried Raisins. This is a healthy and tasty recipe, generally used to perform poojas in the temples and houses as Prasadam. Different regions in India have their own versions of preparing the Prasadam or offering. Bananas, Honey, Cow Ghee, Rock Sugar Candy and Raisins provide various kinds of vitamins and helps to maintain good health, especially for children. Panchamrutham can be easily prepared at home requiring simple ingredients. This is one of the easiest offering or naivedyam that you can prepare on a busy festival day. The recipe calls for five basic elements you will find in most houses. So gather up your elements and let's start cooking. You can explore a well detailed recipe here.

  • 1/4 cup Raisins/dried grapes
  • 1/4 cup Sugar candy
  • 1/4 cup Ghee (preferably made with Cow Milk)
  • 1/4 cup Honey

Instructions

  • Break the Sugar Candy into medium size pieces (only if Rock Sugar is used) and keep it aside
