Parippu Kuzhambu

Ingredients

Tamarind
lemon size

cup
Toovar dal
Tuvara parippu
1/2
cup
Chana dal
4
nos
Red chillies
1
cup
Coconut
grated
1
tsp
Gingelly oil
1
tsp
Turmeric powder
1
tsp
Raw rice
powder
1
tsp
Mustard seeds
1/2
tsp
Fenugreek seeds
Uluva
1
tsp
Coconut oil
Salt
As reqd
Instructions
For preparing parippu kuzhambu, soak chana dal, toovar dal and
red chillies
in
water
for a few minutes.
Grind them with grated
coconut
.
Mix
gingelly oil
and
raw rice
powder and make this mixture into small balls.
Soak
tamarind
in
water
as usual to make
tamarind
water
.
From the balls made above, take two balls and mix with
raw rice
powder and
water
and add this to the
tamarind
water
. Add
turmeric powder
and
salt
and after some time add the remaining balls and cook for a few minutes.
Fry
mustard seeds
, fenugreek and
red chillies
in
coconut oil
and add to the mixture.
Parippu kuzambu is ready.
