pavakkai Vathal (vatral) is nothing but sun dried vegetables, which can be used in the authentic South Indian Specialty dish . It is very very easy to make.

  • remove the seed and cut the bitter gourd into 4 pieces
  • in a bowl add chopped bitter gourd and salt and mix well
  • now add curd and mix well
  • allow to marinate for 1 day
  • next day again mix it and transfer to the plate and keep it in sunlight until the bitter gourd get dry. ( 1 or 2 days )
  • remove from sunlight. now pavakkai vathal is ready
